StageVideo – A new way to render video

leave a comment »

Until now, Flash Player used to decode H.264 video data back from the GPU to the CPU and use the CPU to render the video. With the out of Flash Player 10.2, comes the Stage Video feature. It enables the GPU to render the video directly on the display without the overhead incurred as previously. So to get the best performance, use H.264 encoding for the video and Stage Video for displaying the video. Read more

Tween issues in loading AVMovie1 in AVMovie2

leave a comment »

Today I was working on an ActionScript project while I came across an interesting fact which I would like to share.
I developed a flash site in AS3.0 but due to some constraints I had to use the home page of another flash movie developed in AS2.0; so basically loading AVMovie1 in AVMovie2.

I had a Tween created in my home.swf which works well on first load within AVMovie2. But the problem started when I navigated to another section and again returned to Home. This time surprisingly none of the Tweens in home.swf worked. I checked multiple times to be sure that when I navigated, I cleared my home loader which I added to the base flash. Adobe CS5 roadshow @ Oberio Grand, Kolkata on 16th June, 2010

with one comment

Hello Guys, today I attended the Adobe CS5 roadshow event at Oberio Grand, Kolkata.
Some cool awesome features of CS5 suite got displayed by Rajesh Patil, Vyshak V and GuruVaidya.
After the event I really felt – being a pure ActionScript developer, its a must to have version; and adding to its beauty of quick coding comes with Adobe Catalyst.
I will try to list some features in another post, may be in some times. Meanwhile look here for more.

Anyways , thanks the three for the wonderful eventful session. Cheers 🙂
